NATEEO EXPLORES FOOD INNOVATION AT THE 60TH SIAL PARIS
‘Enriching, energetic and engaging’ are some of the words the Nateeo team used to describe their participation in the 60th edition of SIAL Paris, the world’s leading event for agrifood innovation. With 7,500 exhibitors from over 130 countries, SIAL Paris 2024 was a lively crossroads for visitors from all over the world, where pleasure and dynamism were put at the service of business.
Event highlights
• Food is feeling, connection and care: food is taking an increasingly central role in consumers’ lives, with a growing focus on sensory satisfaction, shared experience and awareness of what we eat and its impact on the planet
• Healthy, BIO and plant-based products: there is a growing trend towards healthier foods, characterised by the inclusion of nutritious ingredients and the reduction of sugar and salt. Legumes, for example, are being transformed into familiar formats for consumers, becoming a viable alternative to pasta due to their high protein content. The confectionery industry is also introducing healthier products that replace sugar and fat with beneficial ingredients, such as quinoa. Interest in vegetarian and vegan diets is steadily increasing, with plant-based products becoming increasingly popular as an ethical choice. Finally, consumers are showing increasing attention to the environmental impact of food, favouring organic and local products, such as BIO coffee, which is gaining in popularity
• Sial Innovation: in the area dedicated to the most innovative ideas, the dominant theme was next-generation plant-based products such as hummus bars and vegetable meat preparations. In the grocery sector, operators are focusing on product upgrading, modernising high-quality ingredients such as black garlic and truffles, used in recipes ranging from dressings to desserts. Collaborations with industry experts, such as chocolatiers and fashion designers, have led to innovative offerings, such as special mousses and limited editions of pasta, aimed at providing unique and refined dining experiences for consumers
The global food industry is constantly evolving to meet current and future challenges, developing sustainable and healthy products that will shape the recipes of the future: SIAL was the perfect opportunity to gather stimuli, gain new knowledge and expand our network of relationships.
